Even More Weathering Techniques..
I found another texturing/weathering effect that I liked also. The first one wasn't working for what I needed to do. Anyway, This site has a nice one-page tutorial that does just what I want it to and since I'm not playing with Photoshop these days as much as Illustrator, I like that it does it simply. Anyway, here's the link to that tutorial and here's what I've got so far for my banner..
Yes, they are elements of my InnerTee submissions but I'm not telling you any more than that. :-P Here's the background and my images without any weathering applied:
And here it is after I've applied what I've learned. Of course, I've tweaked the technique a bit. Instead of just using the render clouds alone, I used the eraser tool in the mask at about 40% opacity to remove the sections I want to be weathered. So I can control a bit more..
