When I saw these crazy figures in Tokyo Hunter's Flickr streams, I emailed Joseph what the hell they were. Crazy Detail!! He said they are from SAE and are kits. I don't normally post kits here, but I thought the design is quite striking. Kinda Bio-Fighter meets SIC....

Okay peeps, here are a few of my latest updates.. First and foremost, of course, my boombu project is coming along as fast as it can, what, with 3 kids needing my attention most days now its summer.. but I manage to get coats of paint in between and in the wee hours of the morning like this morning at 3:40 am here as I post this update...
Next up is a Munny that I could not figure out what to do with up to now. Well actually I have a start, but to be honest I'm still not sure where its going.. haha.. I think its a good background to begin with though. I'll give you all a bit of a tip here with spray paint though. My opinion? So far, Molotow paint works best. The green is grasshopper green by Belton Molotow and I was amazed at how perfectly it went on and how well it covered in one coat. Very little sanding and smoothing, though you should always make sure.. The yellow is Montana Gold. Now I purchased 3 colors of Montana Gold paint and they all do this to an extent, though the yellow is the ONLY one I will swear not to buy another can of. Its called citrus and it comes out -- well, like it is citrus and not the pulp free kind! LOL! It comes out with a flecked-like texture, which at some point may come in handy but not right now.. Anyway, so generally the other two colors work semi-ok but I am sure next time it will be molotow I will be buying. Keep in mind this is for Toys I'm talking about. for graffiti, I don't doubt montana gold works great. The color quality is superb. On a wall, texture won't matter either. Anyway... here's where I found Belton Molotow paints online: Art Primo from my old home town, Seattle, WA.. You can find Montana Gold on Amazon.com and via Ebay.
The next one is the labbit I'm working on and I think I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing with it. Those are hills and a sunrise/sunset and sky, of course. That's all I'm saying for now ;) its on a stick because it was drying. I'm toying around with using masking tape to get a nice edge.. I'm not sure if the colors are right yet.. may need some tweaking..
Last but not least, is the VTF (vinyl toy forum) Munny I've had forever that we're doing as a project with a group of members. I started this project awhile ago but have had things come up and kept me from getting back to this, but as you can see, I'm trying to move forward with it.. :D

Photos from my friend at Jam Factory, Gavin Strange. I have posted about his site before and if you are new to my blog, you ought to check his stuff out, 'cus his stuff is awesome! You might have seen his PillBoy design here or there, which is a very good reflection of his style throughout his designs. Anyway this is his newest custom BUD and he was kind enough to send me this group of images..
Also, keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming interview with Gavin on The Urban Retro Lifestyle site, that I just finished up. Should be posted next week sometime.. (along with other interviews in the following weeks with some great artists/designers) Anyway.. enjoy this set!
