I just thought it would be funny to post this for all of you people (if there are any left since I've been quite absent lately) that follow my blog.. As you know many many months ago I posted Skullboy the image below. If memory serves, I also had posted sketches of the progress shots and everything, and considering it is very similar to all of my other design work, I believe (tell me if I'm wrong) that it really reflects my own personal style. In no way, do I think it is a ripoff of anyone's style, at least, I hope not... In any case, the design is 100% s4ndm4n's and I was amazed and shocked to get the following comment on the image..
I found it humorous to see someone trying to lay claim to one of my own designs and frankly I'm flattered that someone would find it valuable enough to pull that kind of crap.. lol Why? Because if it wasn't a decent design in the first place no one would care right? Well cool. Since I know that I truly did the work, well umm, that can't be taken not matter how many times someone cries "Thief" about my own work. :) Just for the record, these are the images straight from my hard drive including the original SCANNED sketch. Enjoy the humor guys..

Ok so its not always enough to be able to create grungy, weathered and roughed up images in raster images. Sometimes you might have a need to create a similar look but in vector format, perhaps say, for those new "rough" looking Tshirt designs that seem to be all the rage today? Well, I've been looking for a couple days for a tutorial that would really break it down for me. I need basics man, I can always complicate things on my own...heh. Anyway. Best one to date is the tutorial I found on istockphoto.com...
It's all around us; on billboards, flyers, newspapers, even T.V. Scratches, scrapes, dents and cuts. They call it grunge: that nice coat of wear and tear on an image that makes it just right. But getting things this roughed-up isn't as easy as it looks. We've put together a quick course in grunge to let everyone in on this design secret.

I've also found a great site where I found my image to use for this grungy look on an existing design of my own to try out the tutorial. its called TextureKing. tons of stock images to use for textures great quality too. Check that out too.
By the way, here's the first grungy looking design I've done:
I just have to say wow. This rocks. Yet another extended license of one of my popular images has been purchased and it was a great surprise today! This time it was Graffiti Boy. He's one of my best earners too.
On another note, spending time on creating new artwork last night was diverted since I just (for the first time) got Final Fantasy X which I only played briefly a very long time ago.
Wow, I must say this game is just awesome. Oh and in case you're asking, I did buy FFXII first and hated it. Why? Because I hated the battle system that seemed to take the fun out of playing. I am not into running around and just letting my character attack automatically. No fun. Thats why I went back to the older one. The last one that I played through was FFVIII. I have to add that it was the first one I played too and I've been wanting to play another ever since. Anyway.. I'm going to have to force myself not to play this game every stinking hour I have that I'm not at work! LOL. (I'm sure some of you can relate)
I was ecstatic this morning to find an email on my computer from istockphoto. Normally they are just newsletters and I glance at them and archive (or trash..lol) them. This one was different because it said this:
