Just came across this post on the Vinyl Toy Freaks forum. Not a brand new post, but still very much worth posting now, and hopefully it's new to some of you just like it was for me. :)
Artoyz will be releasing Bunka's Chaos Monkey come September, according to our friendly toy addict, Jimmy Foo in his post:
Now I agree with Jimmy's opinion, this is a very cool "tiki-like" design and I can't wait to see too, whether it is available as a blank diy version too.. :) Love the long arms and the stubby little body but I just can't get over the huge eye sockets!! so cool.. so much you could do with this as a canvas! Below you'll see a rendering of the toy in color too but still I hope a blank will be available.
....this is Bunka's first original vinyl toy and is due in September from Artoyz originals, it stands around 14cm (5-6"). I love the Tiki styling of this....here's hoping there's gonna be some blanks available cos i kinda like the look of this as it is....colour protos will be revealed at the Bread and Butter trade show in Barcelona around July 2nd - 4th.
Via Vinyl Toy Freaks. Check out Artoyz here
Full Wave 2 group and a nice "surprise" up next (what the hell could that possibly be?). Rumor has it the colorways are bitter enemies and will fight to the death (and will be a very limited run). VIA
Just doing my thing looking for new stuff on the net as usual, to post on the blog and what do ya know, I found something.. I haven't seen anything like this before and I find this rather intriguing.. what do ya'll think? I love the concept, the idea behind it.. and it seems they might have something more up their sleeves?? Check it out here, I don't know about you but I'm keeping an eye out for more..
See Brent Nolasco and his works at Toyqube booth (#4837).
Everyone seems to be very excited about your new toy series, BetXO stackables, and although I know a little about what they are, can you in your great imaginative way describe what the series is all about?
Its about some animals who have been orphaned due to there disabilities, not doin to great on there own they team up with another animal to form a "super" team. The bottom guy helps out the upper guy by throwin him in his backpack and doin the walking, running, etc.while the top guy picks up everything and does all the handy work, helps to pick up food etc.In the end they all come to be great friends any way you stack em....
How did you come up with this idea for the series? Like all of your
customs, does the series have a longer, more detailed storyline and can
we expect more from it in the future?
You've been doing customs, along with your great street art and canvases for a long time. You're becoming a very well-established artist in the toy and underground art scene, how did this toy series come about?
just messin around drawing an armless bear with a backpack and the rabbit just fit in so well to the backpack it just worked out lol. They all have there own lil stories that MIGHT be in the packaging??? not too sure what we can expect from the BETXO's in the future quite yet there may be an artist series, but we'll see i guess...
When are these set to be released and where will we find them?this was an idea for the bear/rabbit combo about 2 years ago which was in a scrapbook that i found goin thru a while back and i thought i could improve it and make it a 8 inch toy or so,and when i got a good response from BIC they asked if i could do a few other characters and make it a mini series instead...
Not too sure on either of these questions quite yet i should have alot more info after SDCC,BIC is working real hard on alot of different projects so im just not sure....
I look forward to seeing how well your new toys do although I have no
doubts you're going to be very popular with the toy fanatics, including
me!
thank you very much im hoping for the best,if they do well i THINK there will be an artist series which would be amazing to see what other people would do with the form,im also hoping people pick up a few to customize also!!!!!Check out more of Betso's stuff on his flickr
Get your butts in gear. Not only is the OSK series by Erick Scarecrow up for preorder at Neon Martian, but also there are a very small number of blank OSK Dizign figures (20 of them) up for grabs in a drawing. For every OSK vinyl you preorder, you get a single ticket in the drawing for the blanks! I don't have to tell you, that these things will go fast... all of them... and if you're a customizer like me.. (well some of the time) Then you will want your chance to get your hands on one of these!
